John Johnson is a partner and a founding member at Perry, Johnson, Anderson, Miller & Moskowitz and has practiced law since 1984. The firm was founded in 1997. He is from Crescent City and currently lives in Santa Rosa.

He began practicing law as a naval officer for the United States Navy Judge Advocate General Corps. He received his J.D. in 1984 from the University of Santa Clara.

After his time as a naval officer, he worked primarily in civil litigation and now works exclusively as a family law attorney. His experience in litigation includes defending military service members in 12 jury trials and more than 50 court trials as a defense counsel for the Jag Corps. Additionally, as a civil attorney, he’s worked on more than 30 jury trials and over 100 court trials. He’s also mediated or arbitrated more than 100 matters.

Among recognitions, he’s been an AV-rated attorney, is a certified family law specialist and just recently completed “Developing Technology in California Law Strategies,” a Thomson Reuters publication.

He’s developed various unique trial methods that incorporate technology into trials.

He is a member of the Sonoma and California Bar Associations and the Richard M. Sangster Inn of Court, the board of directors of the Legal Aid of Sonoma County, and he received the Legal Aid Service Award for Most Significant Contributions in 2004 and 2005.
