Heidi C. Larson
Areas of Practice:
Ms. Larson practices in all areas of civil
litigation, including
business law,
Fair Employment and Housing Act, employment
disputes and property
disputes.
Ms. Larson also maintains a criminal defense practice.
Experience:
Ms. Larson spent 11 years in the entertainment industry. She worked at
KFTY Channel 50 as the Production Coordinator, Sony Picture Studios, NBC Television,
and Shukovsky English Entertainment in Los Angeles. In 1994 Ms. Larson
returned to her native Sonoma County, where she spent the next 10 years entertaining
local radio audiences. She was a news reporter and producer for a variety
of programming on KSRO, as well as Jim Grady’s Morning co-host (known as
Heidi Cordsen). Ms. Larson was also the host of KXFX-The Fox’s Heather
and Hook morning show.. She continued her radio career at the MIX and Q-105,
before retiring from the airwaves in 2004. Ms. Larson worked as a law
clerk for the Sonoma County District Attorney office for 3 years, and upon being
admitted to the California State Bar, in 2002, she entered private practice. Ms.
Larson returned to the Sonoma County DA’s office in 2004 as a prosecutor. In
2005 she accepted a position with the Mendocino County DA’s office to head
up their “special victims” prosecution, focusing on domestic violence,
child abuse/molest, sexual assault and elder abuse cases. During her tenure as
a prosecutor, she gained extensive trial experience and was able to successfully
marry her talent for communicating and her knowledge of the law into one.
Education and Membership :
Ms. Larson received an A.S. from SRJC in Biochemistry in 1985
and a B.A in Rhetoric and Communication from UC Davis in
1989. Ms. Larson received a Juris Doctorate
from Empire College School of Law in 2002. In 2001 she had the honor of being
the recipient of the first annual Sonoma County Women in Law scholarship, personally
presented by California Supreme Court Justice Joyce Kennard. Ms. Larson is admitted
to practice in all California courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern
District of California.
She is a current member of the Sonoma County Bar Association, the American Business Women’s Association Wine Country Chapter, and Sonoma County Women in Law.
Community Involvement:Ms. Larson is a native of Sonoma County. She has a long history of using her unique talents to support numerous community programs, including SCHOOLS PLUS, the Redwood Gospel Mission annual pledge drive, The Redwood Empire Food Bank food drives, holiday fundraisers to support under-privileged local children and families, the AVON Breast Cancer Walk, and many more.
